Stracel policies

Effective July 28, 2026. Yondwood, LLC, an Arkansas limited liability company doing business as Stracel operates Stracel.

Terms of Use

1. Using Stracel

These Terms of Use govern your use of Stracel, an academic-planning service operated by Yondwood, LLC, an Arkansas limited liability company doing business as Stracel (“Yondwood,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By using Stracel, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You may use Stracel only if you are at least 13. If you are not legally an adult where you live, use Stracel only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

2. What Stracel Does

Stracel is a free academic-planning tool that uses information derived from published institutional sources and information you provide to generate and evaluate possible academic plans.

Supported planning does not require an account, name, or email address.

You may use Stracel for lawful personal or educational planning. You may not resell access to or commercially exploit the service.

3. Academic Limitations

Stracel is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official service of any institution.

Stracel is not an official degree audit, academic advisor, registrar record, enrollment system, or institutional determination.

Academic requirements, institutional interpretations, prerequisites, transfer-credit treatment, and course availability can change or be incomplete, and Stracel’s information or results can be wrong.

Stracel does not guarantee plan completeness, graduation, eligibility, admission, course availability, enrollment, or any other academic outcome.

Before making an important academic decision, confirm the relevant information through your current official catalog, degree audit, academic advisor, registrar, or other appropriate institutional office.

4. Acceptable Use

You may not interfere with Stracel, evade its safeguards or rate limits, probe private systems, introduce malicious code, impersonate another person, or use the service to violate the law or another person’s rights.

5. Ownership and Submissions

Yondwood and its licensors retain their rights in Stracel’s software, design, writing, branding, and other protected materials. Institution names, trademarks, catalogs, and source materials remain the property of their respective owners.

If you submit feedback, suggestions, or an accuracy report, we may store, review, analyze, and use it to operate, secure, support, develop, and improve Stracel. We may use your ideas and suggestions without paying you.

Do not submit information or material, including another person’s academic information, that you do not have the right to provide.

6. Availability and Access

Stracel is a beta service and may experience errors, delays, interruptions, or unavailable features.

We may change, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of Stracel. We may block or limit use that violates these Terms or threatens the security or operation of Stracel.

7. Disclaimers and Liability

Stracel is provided “as is” and “as available.” Yondwood does not promise that Stracel will always be available, error-free, accurate, complete, secure, or suitable for your circumstances.

To the extent permitted by law, Yondwood is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your access to, use of, inability to use, or reliance on Stracel, including additional tuition, delayed graduation, lost opportunities, or lost data.

8. General Terms

Our Privacy Policy explains what information Stracel handles and what happens to it.

These Terms are governed by Arkansas law, except where applicable law gives you rights that cannot be waived.

If we materially change these Terms, we will publish a new version and effective date and provide a reasonably prominent notice. Changes apply prospectively, and your continued use of Stracel after the new effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

If part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the remaining terms remain in effect.

Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Yondwood, LLC, an Arkansas limited liability company doing business as Stracel (“Yondwood,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates Stracel. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Stracel’s website, academic planner, request and report forms, analytics controls, or support email.

2. Information We Handle

Planning information

Stracel does not require an account, name, or email address for supported academic planning. Planning information may include your institution, programs, completed courses, placement or test information, planning preferences, academic dates, and generated plan.

Planner drafts are stored in your browser. Stracel currently treats a draft as expired 180 days after its last saved change and removes expired drafts when they are encountered during restoration or later saving. You may clear drafts sooner through Stracel or your browser’s storage controls.

Build, Evaluate, and Export requests send planning information to Stracel’s API for transient processing. Stracel does not intentionally persist those payloads or record them in application logs.

Requests and reports

If you submit a coverage request, feedback, or an accuracy report, we may collect the information you provide, such as an email address, institution or program, report text, category, catalog context, and an optional course, program, or requirement reference. Email is required for coverage requests and accuracy reports so we can follow up; it remains optional for feedback. We also store submission timestamps and the versions of the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy associated with the submission.

Product analytics

We use PostHog to measure broad product activity, such as landing-page and setup progress, school selection, plan builds, general plan adjustments, exports, request/report form activity, and return visits. PostHog receives a random browser identifier and limited information such as device class, application version, institution identifier, broad counts, and action outcomes.

We do not intentionally send PostHog names, email addresses, report text, course codes, scores, completed-course lists, exact program combinations, or full plans. Automatic interaction tracking, page-view tracking, and session recording are disabled.

When you provide an email address, it is stored separately from PostHog. PostHog may record that a browser submitted a request, but it does not receive the email address or a direct link to it.

Technical information

Stracel and its providers process IP addresses and request metadata, such as the route, time, user agent, status, region, and request identifier, to deliver, secure, troubleshoot, and protect the service from abuse. Stracel may convert connection or email signals into keyed identifiers used for rate limiting and abuse prevention.

Communications

If you email us, Google processes and stores the message, email address, attachments, and ordinary email metadata.

3. Browser Storage and Analytics Choices

Planner drafts are configured to expire 180 days after the last saved change and are removed when Stracel next accesses them. You can clear a draft sooner through Stracel or your browser. Because drafts are stored on your device, Yondwood cannot remotely retrieve or delete them.

PostHog stores its random browser identifier in browser storage. You can disable product analytics through Stracel’s privacy controls. Disabling analytics stops future analytics from that browser but does not delete events PostHog already received.

If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, Stracel also disables product analytics. Stracel does not track your activity across unrelated websites.

Current preference: Analytics enabled unless Do Not Track is active

4. How We Use Information

We use information to provide, operate, maintain, and secure Stracel; generate and evaluate academic plans; prevent abuse and enforce rate limits; respond to coverage requests, reports, support messages, and privacy requests; communicate about Stracel; measure product use and reliability; create aggregated or deidentified statistics; research, develop, and improve Stracel; and comply with law and protect legal rights and safety.

5. Providers and Disclosures

Our main service providers are Vercel for hosting, API traffic, and service security; Supabase for database services and rate limiting; PostHog for product analytics; and Google for support email. GitHub Actions checks only Stracel’s public readiness endpoint and does not receive planning information, request-form information, or report content.

We may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, enforce our rights, or protect Stracel or others. If Yondwood or assets associated with Stracel are involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, financing, or sale, relevant information may transfer with the business, subject to this Policy and applicable law.

We may share aggregated statistics with institutions or other partners, but we do not provide them with identifiable planning information or identify individual coverage requesters. We do not currently sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

6. Retention

We determine retention based on the type of information, why it was collected, whether it remains necessary to operate or secure Stracel, appropriate business recordkeeping, and legal obligations. We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes, then delete or deidentify it unless a longer period is required by law. We may retain aggregated or deidentified information that no longer reasonably identifies a person.

7. Your Choices

You may email hello.stracel@gmail.com to ask us to correct or delete information linked to you, stop communications you previously requested, remove information known to belong to a child under 13, or delete PostHog events associated with an available browser identifier. We may take reasonable steps to verify a request and will respond as required by applicable law.

8. Children and Security

Stracel is intended for people age 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it as required by law.

We use safeguards designed to protect the information Stracel handles, but no internet service is completely secure.

9. Changes and Contact

We may update this Policy. We will post the revised Policy and effective date here and provide any additional notice or obtain consent when required by law.
